New Zune Accessories From Belkin and Monster
While visiting CES last week and constantly asking questions about Zune accessories to manufacturers every time I had a chance, I finally had hints on what to expect from a few of them.
A sales manager of Monster told us we should see a new Zune FM Transmitter on the market in the near future. Monster already has a FM Transmitter but the new one will have an autoseek feature just like the Zune FM transmitter made by Microsoft. The person could not give me a specific date but he said Q1 of 2007 is good guess.
From Belkin we should expect new Zune cases. I was told that spring 2007 is the timeframe set by Belkin to release those new Zune cases.
According to Evan Stein, Vice-president of Marketing Division of SDI (iHomeaudio), we should expect the new speaker systems and alarm clock for the Zune in spring 2007.
One last thing, we tried to confirm with Bill Wittress that Microsoft will send the Zune protocol information to Harman Kardan for the Drive+Play 2. Bill gave us the usual "can’t discuss future business deals" but he confirmed he add dinner with Gina Harman last week at CES. Sounds like discusssions are not so easy with Harman Kardan!
